Accidently unplugged computer while running

I was working on an assignment and I accidentally kicked the back of my desk which touched the plug behind it. The outlet where my computer is plugged in is very sensitive; if I move the plug around even a tad bit the computer tends to shut off or reset if it regains power. So my desk pretty much bumped it although it didn't really "unplug" per say. The computer didn't shut down, it just went to a black screen like I'd usually see when booting the computer where it says "press f9 to enter BIOS" (or whatever function key it is). It just sat at that screen and didn't load my login. So I just held down my power button and rebooted the computer and it is working fine. I just want to make sure I didn't potentially damage any hardware or anything. I know unplugging the PC straight up isn't good for it, but I found it strange that it sat at the black screen. Is it an issue?

Solution
It should not be an issue.

You may have had it without power just long enough for the power supply to not fully power off before power was restored.

Worst case you loose some data(open files or anything that was being worked on at the time.)

I think it will take more than unplugging it to cause hardware damage(I mean you always have the rare chance, but it is unlikely).

I would recommend you maybe look at a way to avoid the issue, maybe mount the power bar or plug it in to an outlet that can not be bumped.

Thanks for the response. I didn't suspect any issues, I just thought the black screen was odd. I'm moving in a week or so so I'll probably just go ahead and order this and dump my old outlet.
