Hi, just bought a i7 6700k, I'm still in the process of choosing a motherboard for it. I'm kind of leaning towards the Asus z170 pro gaming series, it seems to offer everything that more expensive ones do, plus it's cheaper than any of the ROG series.

Then there's the ASUS Z170-A, which seems very popular but seems to not have all he features of the pro gaming one, could it just be a superior quality as they are the same price. But then there's the MSI krait gaming for a similar price (around £120). So its quite confusing which one to go for. I'll mainly be gaming with a bit of over clocking in future. Does it actually matter which one as they probably won't have difference in performance?. Any suggestions or help would be great.

Has anyone tried or can suggest anything to me please

Thanks

I was deciding between the Z170-A and Pro Gaming. Ended up with the Z170-A as I liked it more aesthetically.

Go for the Pro Gaming. I admit, it has better functions than the Z170-A, such as better onboard audio and well, more USB 3.0 ports etc.

OC wise, the A and pro gaming should perform around the same :) Enjoy your new MoBo

Personally, I would go for the Asus Z170-A because I like Asus better, it looks nicer, you're getting a lot of bang for your buck with it, the placement of the PCI slots are better in my opinion, it has a ton of different connectors for random stuff, and it's a bit better for SLI and Crossfire configurations.

The MSI is good, but compared to the others, it's mainly a choice of budget.

The Asus Z170 Pro Gaming is has a close enough price that I'm going to like the first Asus that I mentioned better, just because all that extra stuff for three more bucks.
