Hello,
I've upgraded my PC-
AMD FX 8120 at 3.1Ghz stock
MSI 970a g46 mobo
4TB WD HDD
Zotac geforce gt610 2GB
4gb ddr3 ram
550W PSU
I've replaced the stock fan with Coolermaster Hyper 212X Air cooler

This CPU has a turbo which makes it 4.0Ghz and m interested to do it.
So will it b safe in enabling this feature?
Will it improve my Gaming performance?
Idle temp is about 37-38C and under load it goes to 55C
All replies appreciated.

Its a normal feature of your Cpu so i would say its safe
Just like when your gpu goes into boost clock to handle a game better
and yes, it will improve your gaming perfomance
just look after your temps and you should be fine

I dont know if the cpu only goes to 4.0 ghz if its under load but i would say that you should stay under 75 ° C
But if you´re gaming and its not 24/7, about 70-75 ° should be the maximum
I would recommend to enable it in the Bios and then run a cpu stresstest for a while (like intel burn test, NOT prime95)
to see if its stable and how the temps are going
