Yes, the hardware will support the HD 5450 no problem. However, ensure that you have 64-bit Windows, as 32-bit does not support more than 4GB of RAM + GPU RAM (VRAM.). You have a total of 5GB (3GB RAM + 2GB VRAM.), so it may cause problems if you use 32-bit Windows.

hmm, do they add up?
about the question. gpu ram is not dependent on system ram. you can use 6gb gpu if you want. just remember, vram is not everything. a good gpu with 2gb of vram will be faster than a low end gpu with 4gb vram

^^^ Agreed. That GPU is a very poor performer, I'd try to at least get an r7 250, or look around for a used HD 7750 (They go for about $80 on Ebay.). What is the resolution you'll be gaming at?
