hey i was thinking about updating my graphics on the ol pc and was looking for advice.

my specs are
NZXT PHANTOM 410 WHITE GAMING CASE
i5-4690 (3.5GHz) 6MB Cache
ASUS® SABERTOOTH Z97 MK1
16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2133MHz
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 770
240GB KINGSTON V300 SSD, SATA 6 Gb (450MB/R, 450MB/W)
2TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 64MB CACHE
and my power supply is a 650watt i cant remember the make and i cant see it without opening.

i was wondering if i could upgrade too a 970 without any worries such as my other gear wont be able to keep up and use its full potential or my psu is too small.

On a side note im looking at getting a gaming laptop willing to spend £1500 (about £50 leeway)
any ideas or should i just go and get one from pc specialist?

i have no interest in overclocking and i also live in the uk if that helps.

many thanks

Kane

Solution
The 970 will be fine in that computer, heck im runing a 4670k (still at stock speed) and a 980 without issues. As for gaming laptops i would look at MSI's lineup. I bought a MSI GT Series GT60 2OD-026US about 3 years ago and its still running good and strong.

i have seen msi and they look really nice i was thinking about one or i could get one from a site called pcspecialist

the specs are 17.3 full hd ips led display
Processor is Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor 6700HQ (2.6GHz, 3.5GHz Turbo)

Memory (RAM)
16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X IMPACT 2400MHz SODIMM DDR4 (2 x 8GB)

Graphics Card
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M - 8.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 12(with free rainbow six or assasins creed)

Memory - Hard Disk
480GB KINGSTON V300 SSD, SATA 6 Gb (450MB/R, 450MB/W)

2nd Hard Disk
500GB SERIAL ATA II 2.5" HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (5,400rpm)

i dont no if anyone has used them before but the price seems stupid good at £1492.

what do you think?

Spec wise and price is about what i paid for mine at the time. Mine was top of the line from MSI in the 15.6" screen, went smaller because i new i was going to travel with it. Came with a i7 & 780m 128GB msata + 1TB 5400rpm drive. I then added in an intel 120GB and 240GB msata drive to it.
