Hi Everyone, I recently bought an A10 7850K and it seems to be overheating a little. When I went into the bios for the first time i noticed it was idling at 65c and I knew that wasn't normal. I tried to take the heat sink/ fan off to see if I was getting a good seal and I didn't see any error of installation. I was wondering if I should return this to microcenter before the 15 days are up or try to use different thermal paste?

Thank you all,

My previous AMD A10 5800k use to idle around the high 40s C with a cooler master hyper 212 according to the motherboard (MSI) temp. Also most of those windows temp programs don't give an accurate reading of the APU temps. Besides the motherboard temp readout, does the machine shut off due to the overheating?

Hi ddog! the PC doesn't shut off but it was idling around 75C last night and new that was not normal at all so I took the mother and CPU apart and I am going to return it to microcenter tomorrow. I also updated the bios from gigabytes website but did see any change. I think I may have just gotten a lemon!
