Please someone help me.. i recently overclock my i7 4790k to 4.6ghz and CPU Vcore set to 1.254 and i use Aida64 to test it for 8 hours and my highest temp is 86 degrees is this safe?!

i follow this overclocking guide : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up0sZl26ei4

any suggestion or comments to make it better thank you in advance?

CPU : i7 4790k
Cpu Cooler : Cooler Master 212 Evo

it's not I think.if you run your system for a couple of hours with that temp , a disaster may happen..if you are going to follow a guide for this , make sure that it is from a reputable individual , you can tell by number of views subscribers and read comments and never follow everything you see.. or think about it before you follow it completely

86C? Not consistently. This CPU model's "Tcase" (Case Temperature is the maximum temperature allowed at the processor Integrated Heat Spreader,) is 74C.

This chip will clock itself down at that temp so as to self preserve itself. As long as it's not consistently running at 86C, it should be fine. Re pasting and reseating the cooler may help though. Make sure you remove all old thermal paste first, then use a very thin layer of thermal paste when you re grease it.
(Just barely enough to coat it)

Also, here's a short video on temps...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuP6I0mOb1s

Good, that's a god sign that the chip is downclocking itself (like it should) when it gets too hot. Another thing with overclocking is that no two chips are ever the same. Running benchmark software like Aida64 is going to push the CPU to the max. Monitor the temps while you are gaming or doing other normal tasks to know what it's really doing.

@R4lNM4N super thanks for replying to my post i really appreciate it ... So should i consider it safe?? mean to say i don't have to do anything right now just leave it like that?? is there any software that monitor the cpu temp???

It is safe, but heat is THE REASON that performance will degrade over time...How much time? Depends. Depends on the chip itself, how long it runs how, how well its cooled etc. I don't usually push overclocking for that reason. Unless I really need a higher clock for some reason I just run stock speeds or let the one click overclock feature of my motherboard boost it while gaming.

I like this Windows gadget to monitor my temps while gaming

http://addgadgets.com/all_cpu_meter/ (I just keep this up on my second screen)

open hardware monitor works well for recording temps...http://openhardwaremonitor.org/
