I built this computer about 2 years ago and for the past month it has been shutting down at seemingly random times. the computer will not turn back on until you shut down the PSU and hold down the computer power button for about 5 seconds discharging the electricity. After a ton of do-it-yourself troubleshooting i found out the most reliable way to shut it down is by opening Heroes of the Storm (note i dont play this game dota 4 life) i can have it open for ~15 seconds before it shuts down my whole computer. When playing dota it will shut down whenever i try to get into a game or when the game ends. i have an itching feeling that it could be my graphics card because Heroes of the storm is a much more graphics intensive game on the opening screen while most of dotas graphics arent crazy until you are in game (also while in game sometimes large flashy ultimates (black hole, call down) will crash my computer too). i downloaded some sort of graphics card benchmark tester on steam and as soon as the simulation loaded my computer crashed. i was under the impression that i would get some sort of bluescreen for this problem but most of the time my computer just goes black and when i get it back on it acts like nothing happened. 3 times i have gotten error screens when turning on the computer again 2 were telling me my motherboard BIOS was corrupted and it was reinstalling off the backup BIOS and the 3rd was asking if i wanted to reinstall windows. i did reinstall windows but that helped nothing. im really hoping its not a graphics card problem as i have no money for that shit but any help is appreciated.

Hi,

From first impressions, I am thinking you have got power supply troubles...

When you open a game for example the amount of wattage drawn from your components increases and thus the power supply must supply more watts to power your PC efficiently, if the psu does not have enough power to draw out then the system simply shuts down since there isn't enough power.

What Power Supply model do you have, i noticed you didn't list it here.

That would greatly improve my investigation.
