Update : November 7

This is happening again and I am fed up of this problem.

I RMA'ed the old PSU and got a brand new July 2015 manufactured PSU. The first few days it worked fine. But the problem has started again.

Please help. Considering to sell everything now and buy a laptop.:??:

October Problem:-
So in the morning my PC was running fine, shut down properly - no abrupt shutdowns. In the evening when I tried to boot it up, the following happened:-

I press the power button, the fans spin up, lights come on and after about 5-8 seconds it shuts down. I press the power button again...nothing. Again...nothing. Waited for about 3-5 minutes pressed the power the power button again same thing happens;

No POST. No BIOS screen nothing :(

I stripped everything apart and assembled bare minimum to check for hardware defects. Mobo,PSU,CPU and a stick of RAM.

Same thing happens. I touched the CPU and can feel a little warm so I assume my CPU is not dead. I ran the paper-clip test on my PSU and it runs fine.

Please help since I only have this PC and my exams are coming and I need it.

My Specs- i7 4790K | Gigabyte Z97-D3H | G.Skill 4x2 DC | Seasonic SII2 620 | Seagate 2TB | No GPU.

paper clip test isn't always accurate. i would recommend checking your psu with an inexpensive tester: http://www.amazon.com/Insten%C2%AE-24-pin-Power-Supply-Tester/dp/B005CTCD6S

after that, since you already disassembled and reassembled, that would almost definitely point to the motherboard. i would recommend calling the motherboard manufacturer so they can troubleshoot with you. they will attempt to diagnose the board and issue you an rma if they cannot resolve the issue. let them know you have tested the power supply and the other steps you have taken. im sure they will agree it is the board at this point.

Okay, apparently there was a setting in BIOS called "Power Loading" that was set to Auto. It states that when the PSU is at low load a self-protection kicks in causing it to shutdown or fail. If this happens, please set Enabled. I set it to Enabled and VOILAAAA!!! Problem Solved!!!!

Thanks for the answers. :)
