Should I use Cat6 or Cat7

I am getting a new internet setup new modem,router,cables,etc... and am wondering should I get Cat6 or Cat7. What would be best? I get download speeds of 300mb/s and 50mb/s upload (according to TWC).

Cat7 is your best option, since you have the budget for it , then get it and enjoy the benefits of it

do you stream media between wireless and wired devices? if yes get cat7 for future proofing your network. if not go with cat6

Depends on your budget. But if your only running short distances with little EMI interference cat 6 is all you need. However if your going to run cable through walls and your budget allows for it, you may as well get cat 7.

Cat5e does gigabit performance out to 100 meters. There is pretty much no reason to pay extra for Cat6 or 7.

Well if it helps I plan to run a cable anywhere from 30-45 feet from my current setup to my gaming room. I also willl be using the http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XC6GJ0?colid=G2G2NI7Z1ZTV&coliid=I1SORMJSKNJUH0&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl as my modem and the http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YGULK90?colid=G2G2NI7Z1ZTV&coliid=IZG3CZ2ESMWSS&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl as my router. I will be upgrading my router its just I need that to get by for like 2 weeks and my current all in one modem is picky in what position it needs to be in.

Cat5e = 100 meters = 330 feet.

Even if you buy cat6 cable, most people can't terminate it to cat6 standards and have no way to test for cat6 standards. Solid copper -- NOT COPPER CLAD ALUMINUM (CCA) cat5e will work for just about anything.

A proper Cat6 termination is a royal pita. Cat5e is much simpler and unless you are looking at large amounts of electrical interference, Cat5e works plenty good enough not to worry about grounding issues.
