Could you help me build my first gaming/workstation PC please?

My budget is around $1200 USD; I live in Mexico so that should be around $20,000 MXN.

My idea is to have a computer where I can run some games (i.e.: Second Life, yes it still exists lol) but I'll mostly use it for 3D Modelling, maybe some animation, sculpting, designing (I'll start using Blender).

I haven't bought anything yet but this is my current list of components I've chose:

I'm not finished so I wonder if you could review this build so far and tell me what is good or wrong? what could I change or add?

I still lack some components:
1. Monitor
2. Air fans
3. Wifi card
4. Power supply
5. Chasis
6. HDD/SDD

Beforehand, thank you!

More about build gaming workstation
  1. First off - get a way less expensive case and invest that difference in the CPU and GPU - that will benefit you more than a 760T will. You only need a case like that if you're setting up a custom liquid cooling solution. But you should have at least a K CPU and a much better GPU if you plan on gaming. Some folks around here might suggest a Xeon but the differences aren't worth it, IMO.
  2. Thank you for the reply, I updated the parts now... is it better? I think the $3,856 left will not cover the other missing components price :/
  3. You should be able to build that whole thing for $1200 U.S. Are the prices that bad in Mexico? If so, from all the hot air I have heard on TV it shouldn't be to hard to take a weekend shopping trip to the U.S. :)

If you build it on partsparts picker in English and Dollars and provide a link it Woolf be easier for us to make suggestions. Then just mimic it on your account.

At the current exchange rate, 1 Mexican Peso is worth approximately $0.065 USD. So if you factor that out, a budget of $20K MXN comes out to approximately $1,210.70. The OP has configured a system that will cost approximately $16,143 MXN, which is equal to about $975USD. Now that's more than enough to change a few components with the budget given. But $1200 might not be enough to cover everything if you want a decent GPU.

    I might suggest:

    SSD: http://www.cyberpuerta.mx/Computo-Hardware/Discos-Duros-SSD-NAS/SSD/Samsung-250GB-SSD-850-Evo-SATA-III-2-5.html

If you want to save some money don't worry about air fans - they're not a crucial purchase, and neither is the Wifi card - for desktops its' usually better to run on a landline if possible.
  5. Here is something to get you started. I just suggested this build, in another thread, just a few mins ago.

OP is buying from Mexico and the site that I checked out had a very limited selection of parts.
