Hello All,

I currently have internet service at my house from Brighthouse, and one of the benifits they have are WIFI hotspots all over town. One of these hot spots happens to be directly in front of a shop that I rent about 15 min from the house. The problem is that the signal is limited in the parking lot and non existent inside the block building.

What I am looking to do is set up a WIFI receiver (Possibly with a high power patch antenna, as the roof is high and puts me in sight line of the hotspot on the poll in front of the building in front of mine.) and take that signal, login to the hotspot on the local computer there and then use that internet to broadcast a local WIFI network in the building.

Is this possible to do?

Maybe it gets tricky with services like this they try to restrict you to a single device.

In any case what you want to use outdoors is a wireless bridge engenius and ubiquiti sell many models. A example is enh202 but you need to determine which best meets your needs since there are models that run at different speeds and distances and different frequencies. You would then run a ethenret cable inside.

To get a wireless signal inside normally I would recommend a AP but I suspect you may have to use a router......note a router can run as a AP even without a special feature in the router. Using a router will make all the devices share a IP.

From the little I have seen it appears they are going to make it somewhat painful to use by disconnecting you every hour.
