Boosting HDD Speed!

Hello Gentlemen,

Budget doesnt allow me to get a new fancy SSD at the moment, i would like to find a way to boost my HDD speed since and i'll give an example - when i load a rush map on Battlefield i get when the MCOM's are allready planted, i wanna be at the start of the round, My pc isn't bad i designed it myself (i7 4790k Gtx 770(kinda old i know) still, anyway to make an HDD load things faster? mine is max speed 130 mb/s when i benchmarked it.

Hi there FrostyZed,

Is the drive fragmented? I guess you can defragment it.
Also, in case it is filled up, it may be a good idea to free up some storage space.

Anyway, you can't really expect much more from a hard drive. What is the model of the drive?

If you have enough RAM, you can have allocate some as a cache for the HDD. Then it'll boost the most accessed filed.
an example is

If you search enough, there are even free versions that creates RAM disks. But couldn't find a RAM cache software.

Thanks for the answers folks, for the RAM answer, i have 8GB which is enough for me. For the other question about the hard drive, It's an Hitachi one, this pc is 4 years old, Hard drives and the case are the only parts i have yet to change. Hope that answers your questions,

I've meant the model of the drive. In case it is a 5400 RPM one, you can consider getting a 7200 RPM one.
Apart from that, in order to boost performance, you need to defrag it from time to time and keep some free space on it.
