Sound Card for Astro A40's

Hi,
I have asked this question but I am gonna go into more detail.
So I have an ASRock H97 motherboard and the Astro A40's w/ MixAmp Pro

I am not getting surround sound because I cannot use and optical cable with my motherboard (it does not have an optical port). Basically will I need a soundcard in order to achieve surround sound?
I have tried Razer Surround and I do not like it.
Any suggestions?

I have the top sound card and it's awsome;

The second card is raved about and has the connection you need.

Did you want anything cheaper?

I think the cheaper of the 2 will be better. I'm not a straight up audio phile I just want surround sound XD
