Hi,

I want a new build as I need to replace my motherboard. I want a build with a new motherboard and HDD but want to take the old parts from my current PC and move them in to the new PC. Are there any sites where I will be able to get just the case, motherboard and HDD from?

Cheers!

EDIT: So i'm now going to keep the case and just replace the motherboard and add an additional HDD. I will do these replacements myself. Any suggestions for decent motherboards compatible with: Gigabyte 970A-DS3 (AMD 970)? I would also like to get a wi-fi adapter, how easy is this to install?

This is my build:
700W PSU
120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD SATA-III, Read 550MB/s, Write 500MB/s - Silent
AMD FX 4130 (4 x 3.8 GHZ) - (Free Dirt Showdown Game)
ATI Radeon HD 7750 - 2 GB - (Sapphire) - (PCI-E) (FREE NEXUIZ GAME)
Gigabyte 970A-DS3 (AMD 970)
Samsung 24x DVD/CD Re-Writer/Reader - Black - (SATA)
X-Blade Black
Crucial 8GB PC3-12800 1600MHz (1x8GB) - Lifetime Warranty (DDR3)

Solution
You can buy case, motherboard and hDD separately from anywhere.
As for building? You will have to do it yourself since you want to use your other old parts. Or ask a friend to do it for you.

Also, keep in mind that if your cpu is too old, you may not find new motherboards for it anymore.

I just did an upgrade similar to what you are asking about. I did a new case (added some fans), motherboard, and CPU cooler. All of my stuff came from either Amazon.com (since I already pay for PRIME) or newegg.com. Case and mobo from amazon, cooler from newegg to be specific. Soon I intend to grab a new graphics card and processor. I'll evaluate the the prices on both of those sites when I'm ready to purchase.

No site i can think of, but doing it yourself is actually a great learning experience. I recommend just doing it yourself to save hassle and shipping and what not. Or if you want a whole new system entirely but dont want to build it yourself then Cyberpowerpc and XOTICPC are good sites to build a new system and they do it for you.

I'm guessing you have something like AMD FX-6xxx or FX-8xxx?
In which case you don't really need a new motherboard. (unless you have FX-8320/8350 in which case you might want to change to 990X/FX board.)

The bracket broke? Dang well then you're probably going to have to RMA...or idk maybe you could try something but it could cause further damange to the board.

EDIT: NVM, I did not refresh my page and now you posted why your board needed replaced.

Don't think they will warranty physical damage.

If upgrading motherboard I would get a Gigabyte 970-ud3p or msi 970 gaming board. Both of these are good boards with good vrms and can properly support 125w CPUs like the fx-8320/8350.

In that case, you can buy pretty much ANY MSI/Gigabyte/Asus AMD970 motherboard.
Also, installing Wi-Fi card is simple plug-and-play. Just plug it in and it's ready to use.
Some may come with some extra drivers you need to install from CD/DVD. In which case just hit the CD in the drive and follow instructions.
