Best GPU to replace Crossfire Sapphire r9 270x Dual-X's?

Hi! I currently have 2 Sapphire r9 270x Dual-X's in Crossfire mode in my PC. I am looking to sell them, as they have disappointed me greatly. My FPS in SMITE is usually at around 60, with max settings, but too frequently my FPS drops to around 20 FPS. I cannot stand it anymore, as it happens too often during big teamfights. What would be the best card (or cards) to replace them for the same value of both the current cards combined (Im thinking around $350-$375 ish)? Thanks! Let me know if you have any questions!

AK47Jarhead made exactly the same recommendation I would make. A single GTX 970 will give you performance somewhere around 270x crossfire, but use less power, be quieter and run cooler.

I have the Gigabyte G1 with a custom modded BIOS and it's been running strong with my OC for months now. Very happy with the results.
