I upgraded to Windows 10 about a week ago and decided that I didn't like it so I went back to Windows 7 using the inbuilt downgrading thing in settings. The problem now is it says it's not genuine and gives me a black desktop and tells me to buy a new licence. My pc is a custom build from a friend and I do not have the orginal product key. Anything I can do?

Solution
Many hacked versions of Windows 7 run the hack each day to fake the activation. It is run in the task scheduler. If Microsoft restored the tasks the hack would run and you would appear to have a activated version again after the task is run again.

If you have a legal version, you should have the image and the key. Find out if you have a sticker on your machine. Maybe on the battery if it is a notebook.

If Microsoft repaired a hacked version, well they can repair their own binaries.
