Basicly what the title a says. My computer will turn on for a split second then power off but as sson as i takr out my fx 7950 it works. I swapped my 7950 out for a gt 630m and it boots fine. I have no clue whats wrong.
Mobo: gigabyte z97x-SLI
graphics card: R 7950
Psu: Antec 620 w
Processor: i7 4790kat 4.3 ghz
Ram : stock dell ram 10gb
Cooler: H100i with 2 fand on the rad and 3 on the front of my case
Hdd: 1tb 7200 rpm
the psu is enough, and antec makes good psu-s so should be fine... did you plug the pci ex power cables back into the card after you replaced it with the 630?
@laviniuc yeah i made sure to do that, ive aslo take my motherboard out to make sure nothings shorting it out. Im going to check now if my mobo has a bios update.
You say the card is 5 years old. Did it used to work in this motherboard in the past?
Yes, It worked for about 4-5 months
Then all of a sudden your computer did not work, but switching cards makes it work, correct?
Yes, I swapped my old Grapics card out for a new one and it boots up. Would a system power on then power back off like that if the older Grapics card is dead?
@turkey3_scratch
Alright, well thanks for the help anyway. While your here though do you have any recommendations for a Grapics card? I normally play Csgo and looking to play the new Fallout when it comes out. Any suggestions?
