Okay so the S/PDIF port broke on my MSI G46A a month after getting it. Yeah yeah i know. bad board, bad decision. But the pc is built and theres no way i'm it up changing now. Give me a break it was my first build, now i know for my next what not to do. ANYWAY, I need an S?PDIF port on my pc for 5.1 surround on my headset. Nothing special. Just needs to deliver 5.1 surround. This is a best seller: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045JHJSS?refRID=AHFVC36MAZETF5Z9GN6B&ref_=pd_ybh_a_2. SO, will it give me what i need? I can get it for 20$ used for a short time so it would be great. Thanks guys.

This PCI sound card is out dated.
Do you have a hdmi graphics card and receiver hdmi ports?
Otherwise any pcie sound card will work.
Also the defective port could be resoldered or replaced with another spdif connector. (soldering required)
