What are the advantages for the Z97 chipset over the H97 one? I've read that the Z97 is good for overclocking but I don't think I will be overclocking at all.
h97 are the "standard" boards ie the non overclocking and the z97 is overclocking and if you are not overclocking you might as well save yourself money and get a h97 and a locked cpu!
just some info, some H97 boards allow you to overclock. AsRock H97 Fatal1ty Performance is one of them, Asus also has one iirc. you can only change the multiplier though.
^That is true, but it is done by exploiting a loophole and is not officially supported by Intel. They could release a software or firmware update which could block that feature.
