Hey everyone, I need help picking a PSU!
Will there be a difference in power consumption between 750W and 500W psu if all your rig draws is 300-400w?

The build I'm going for (gaming pc): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Xhxx3C
i5 4690k
gtx 960
1 hhd

and I've considered two PSUs,
1) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438016&cm_re=evga_500w-_-17-438-016-_-Product
evga 500w white ~40 dollars

2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G28N0668&cm_re=750w_g2-_-17-438-017-_-Product
evga 750w G2 ~120 dollars

I was worried the 750w PSU would be overkill for my build, and the 500w too little when I wish to upgrade/OC later down the line. The advantage with the 750 is the 10 year warranty, so I was thinking I could reuse it in a 4-6 years time. And, the 750w is 5 dollars more expensive than the 650w (same brand), and 20 dollars more than a 550w (similar PSU, modular, gold rating).

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Usually i would recommend getting the 500w one, but if you want to upgrade in the future, to a high end GPU or stuff like that and want to OC everything, the 750w unit would be the best option for you. Also the 750 G2 is a top tier quality PSU. Keep in mind, that 750w will be enough for pretty much ANY setup EXPECT for SLI/CF setups with power hungry high end cards. SLI 960s would be just fine.

For whatever w amount you go, choose a G2/P2/T2/GS/PS model if you want to stick to EVGA, because these are their best PSUs.

The GPU:s you looked at are very good. 500W should be plenty enough for OC and for adding some extra harddrives in the future. If you want to SLI, then go for 750W. If not, the obvious choice is 500W.
