I can not find any way or software besides USB SECURE by NEWSOFTWARES. But this is not worth the money. It works great but the problem is the License as the Company is paranoid about using it on more than one drive so it will rarely let you use it. You can no t even upgrade to a larger drive. It somehow locks you in on the drive when you buy it. .
Encrypting an entire 4-6tb drive is not practical unless you can wait for a couple of days.
The concept for USB SECURE would be great if it was not copyrighted by NEWSOFTWARES.
Anyone know of a GOOD software that can protect and lock an USB drive from view if stolen, etc?

Solution
External hard drives are easy to unplug and lock away in a secure place so why not do that when it's not in use?
Much safer than encryption as regards something going wrong. I lock mine away in an under- floor safe with a carpet over it. It's near a wall so I only have to lift edge of carpet for access.

Start using proprietary encryption, or password-protection at file level and you'll be sorry one day when it all goes belly up. It happens all the time, our forums are littered with cries for help from those who can't get at their encrypted data any more. Don't do it!
