Will different types of RAM work together?

+1 Thes sticks also take a different approach to set up, the Ripjaws X use XMP as does most all DRAM, the Fury take a unique approach by utilizing PnP for set up, they don't even have an XMP profile.

Mixing ram is always a crapshoot and generally a no-no. In this case theres is an extremely good chance it will not work together at all. The timings are different.

The best chance you have of memory working together that you didn't buy at the same time is to buy the EXACT same make and model. Just buy the same one and you'll very likely be fine.

Possibly not.

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.
Although, I think the problem has lessened with the newer Intel chipsets. Still,
it is safer to get what you need in one kit.
