Hello everyone, I am interested in coding a game with a small “team” of friends and will be needing a capable, affordable and durable PC (for the sake of not having to spend $ on more hardware anytime soon). I have entry level experience (little to none) on PCs, yet plan on learning (as I have been) what I can towards ordering, building and operating my own PC from scratch. Any helpful suggestions, comments and ideas are welcome (I’ll probably need all the help I can get…), thank you!

Details are listed below.
This is the link to Pcpartpicker, which I used to make this build:

Approximate Purchase Date: within a month to 45 days, longer if needed, Cyber Monday/Black Friday may be involved
Budget Range: 1,000-1,200$, near 1,200$ for hardware (and OS) but anticipating changing prices and shipping
System Usage: Programming, Audio, Gaming, Microsoft Office stuff
Monitor: unsure at the moment, open to suggestions
OS: Windows 10
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: (e.g.: newegg.com, ncix.com -- to show us selection & pricing)
Location: Minnesota, US
Parts Preferences: I have been pointed toward Corsair, Asus, and Intel
Overclocking: Not happening
SLI or Crossfire: I’m unsure whether this is practical
Additional Comments: This is going to be a combined effort between me and a couple of friends to acquire a capable, stable, and useful PC for coding, testing and gaming purposes.

Solution
Looks like a pretty strong system, the only thing I would suggest is a H97 motherboard, as you have selected a non k (non overclockable) CPU. I personally would get the 4790K as it has a higher clock speed and you can overclock later on if needed.
Your power supply choice is perfectly fine but you could get a Tier 1 'EVGA G2 650W' for $99.99 @ Newegg.

Thanks for the input, the power supply was picked out as 750 and the motherboard as a Z97 due to recommendation from a friend of mine, but the other options look good too. Thanks so much for helping, I am glad to hear this build is okay.
