So I just built a super powered pc to replace my PS4 and old i3 laptop. However, I have an old game with so many mods (Microsoft Flight Simulator) on the laptop hard drive but I can't just transfer it to my new computer. There are too many plugins to keep track of and linked files around the computer. The other problem is I'm pretty sure there is some viruses I don't want on my new computer. I was wondering, if I unplug the hard drive in my pc, plug in the laptop drive with the virus and play the game, then switch them will the main hard drive in the PC get the virus? Is there any way that could happen? I'm extremely paranoid of getting a virus so this may seem stupid but understand, I've had bad luck with them and don't want more problems from them.

Solution
You can try and run an antivirus on your laptop before you hook it up to your new computer, OR you can connect it as a secondary hard drive to your new comptuer and install your OS and programs and such on your other Hard Drive.
