what mother board is good to get for a gaming computer

So far i have decided to get a nvidia gtx 970 as ive heard alot of great reviews and also ive been told the intelcore i5 4690 will run well with it but i know nothing about mother boards and what one will work and how much too spend

I'd recommend the Gigabyte H97-D3H. It would work well with your CPU and video card. It has PCIE 3.0, USB3.0 and enough system fan headers to enable good cooling. Plus gigabyte make excellent motherboards in terms of build quality and longevity.
The ASUS H97 Plus is also a good option but personally I'd go with the gigabyte
