I'm currently in the process of building a PC that can handle 1440p 60fps on ultra settings(2x aa or less as I've heard it's not necessary at that res) on current games and upcoming one like battlefront, fallout 4 etc, without breaking the bank much yet still being effective.
I've done quite a bit of research on all the following parts, so I am really just asking from the experts for input, tips, Opinions, or any changes that could be made that would benefit me or benefit my wallet without hurting performance.
I am also looking to do small overclocks on the CPU, and maybe push the GPU more if it can handle it.

Skylake system is much more modern/power efficient - technically cpu should generate less heat while overclocked.
That Cooler Master 212 EVO doesn't look good at all and the price says it all
Phanteks case delivers much more quality/ergonomics for the same price + 4 case coolers to fill all the mounts.
Faster SSD
Consider cheaper monitor, as G-Sync is overrated for this price - this build is capable of running games without those fake frames (sometimes they even have a delay and make the movement extra blurry)

Will that mobo be roughly as good as the one it replaces, I'm not too well educated on motherboards. I'm kind of new to PC building from scratch; is phanteks a good brand overall?and Is gsync really not that good? I am really sensitive to screen tearing as I encounter it on my 970m laptop it's horrible.

MSI mobo is very good for the price and it's connectors / functionality / features - good price if you like AS ROCK better, go with Extreme4 (4+ not required)
Phanteks are very good IMO, they are not that popular, but the products / specifications / user reviews speak for themselves, good price.

I'm not saying g-sync is bad, but i think it's not worth the money - strictly my opinion.
Enabled V-sync should fix screen tearing, also, a good HDMI cable.
