Hi, guys! I am not sure so I am gonna ask a fast question, does every router have its own unique ISP-provided credentials (like, ISP username and password)? So let's say I have a router and its username is xxxxxx and its pass is xxxx. Then it breaks, I use my warranty and get a new one, do the password and username that the ISP gave me stay, or are they only for unique devices, say I buy a router - it gets its own details, I buy another one, it gets its own. Thanks!

Solution
It depends on the type of internet connection. Many dsl uses PPPoE or PPPoA those use a userid and password but it is not tied to hardware. Routers that contain cable modems do not use a userid and password but it does have a unique hard mac address that you must tell the ISP if you change the device.

@USAFRet No, no, I am not talking about the router's built in pass and username. I am talking about the details your ISP gives you, in order to supply internet to the router.
@bill001g Well, my router is a TL-WR841N and my ISP set my Internet to PPPoE the first time, so I guess that's that.

Well, I got my router today. I opened its settings with admin/admin and it transported me to the Quick Setup page. I did it all, first it asked me for the connection type, so I put in PPPoE / Russian PPPoE, after that it asked me for the ISP username and password - I put them in, I have them on a paper AND on a text file written by the guy who set me up for internet initially, so I don't think I have it all wrong there. After that I configured my Wi-Fi - it's showing on everyone's laptops and phones, so it's good. But then I notice that in the status page that it's connecting forever. It just doesn't connect. Why is that??
