windows freeze on start up

Hi i am running windows 7 and when it starts the screen freezes. I can move the mouse around but i can not click on anything. I must use control alt del to switch tasks then its fine. I upgraded to win 10 it brought the problem with the upgrade. I then reformatted and went back to win7 with minimal drivers and is freezing again.

Can anyone help or has anyone experienced the same problem?

yes i tried that and only using 1 ssd to boot. It just does that freeze then when i control alt del and task manage it works fine. I was shocked to find it did it after a full reformat and clean install. Im old and married working to much. I dont have the time or the enthusiasm to work this out i just want it to work normally

I am running an i5 3570k 15 gb ram 1600mhz gigabyte smiper g1 mb and intel ssd boot drive. just to install windows. I even took out my video card hd7950 and used the onboard. Im sure its a simple error just dont have the time or patience to sort it.
