I just started my new build for the first time. It has a Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 mo/bo, an Intel i7-5820K CPU, EVGA 850W PSU, Gigabyte GTX 970 GPU, Coolermaster V8 GTS CPU cooler, 16 GB's of Crucial Ballistix Sport RAM (2x8), an SSD and a HDD. And, yes I did put thermal paste on the CPU. When I click the power button, the rig starts, runs for about two seconds, turns off for a few seconds, starts again for a few seconds and, continues to stop and start. I've checked my wiring, unplugged and re-plugged. looked over the wiring diagram repeatedly. I can't locate anything that could possibly be wrong in the wiring. I don't want to keep fooling with starting and stopping because I may harm something. Any suggestions or further information you need? Thanks! Sorry! My stupidity. After rechecking the wiring diagram. I found that I forgot to wire the CPU power cord to the mo/bo. I feel like a complete fool.

Hi

Check cpu supported by bios & motherboard
info usually on bios version is on box or label on bios chip
Cpu compatibility on gigabyte website

Reset cmos using jumper ( read manual)

Read the faq on building pcs at toms

Start by simplifying system

Cpu, & heatsink fan, 1 stick of ram ( psu) screen connected to integrated graphics port
