Best graphics card under £500/$770

I am thinking of upgrading my two 4 gb GTX 960's
I would like to know what the best graphics card is that i can get for my money. I will want to be playing at 4K resolution and very graphically intense games. I am thinking about getting the gtx 980. I need something a lot more powerful than my two way sli with 4gb gtx 960's.

If ypu want to pay at 4k then you need a crossfire/sli setup, for $600 you can get two R9 390 cards, and that leaves $170 for a big PSU, you'll need a quality $850 PSU.

Thank you for the reply, I am also thinking about getting a 780ti and then getting a second in a few months time. I am thinking about doing the same with the 980, getting a two way sli after a few months of playing with a single GPU. Power is not a problem for me as I now have a 1000W psu. Which one would be better, 780ti or 980, both will eventually be in a two way sli setup.
