I have recently bought i7 4790k and now I have one question here. Does old i7 4790k is made of Haswell and new one with Devil's canyon? Or they both are same? Actually, in CPU z software it shows that my processor's code name is Haswell. And in the internet I see some websites/individuals mentioning about i7 4790k Devils Canyon. Now I am having a big doubt that did I bought an older i7 4790k processor or dealer cheated me by selling me an older CPU while we have newer ones available :??: I am so confused can someone please explain me whats the difference? If there is no difference then why 2 names exists? Thanks in advance.

Solution
The i7-4690k is a Haswell generation CPU.

Devil's Canyon is simply a marketing name Intel has given to that CPU. The i7-4690k has better thermal paste under the lid compared to other Haswell generation CPUs and it has better / more capacitors inside the CPU package for smoother power delivery.
