I'm looking for a 2000 AUD pc build that'll be capable of running gta v, battlefront and future games on max settings with fps of about 70-100. The $2000 includes all parts except peripherals, monitor and OS. An i7 CPU is preferred to future proof it a bit and either drr3 or 4 is fine, depending on cost and overall performance.

Thanks in advance.

If I were to pay the extra $150 would it be worth getting the gtx 980? I've looked at quite a few benchmarks and in most games the gtx runs better in resolutions under 4k and considering I will only be playing in 1440p it might be better suited.

That depends on the monitor, if it's Free-sync then go for AMD and if it's G-sync then go for Nvidia and if it's neither of them then I suggest going also for Nvidia, till now the R9 390x runs very hot that's why I would consider the gtx 980, the R9 390 is cooler than the 390X though especially the R9 390 Nitro, but if you want to ensure the best of the best on 1440p then definitely go for the Fury http://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202157&cm_re=r9_fury-_-14-202-157-_-Product
