My Pc makes a quick 4 or 5 clicks when I open audacity (voice recording software) it's coming from the rear of the tower... no other programs or games do this when opening or through duration of use... pc is brand new and is high tiered gaming pc from ibuypower so I'm hoping I hear good news... I don't think it's the hdd because the program is saved on an sdd drive it sounds like it's coming from the psu if or a usb port if that makes sense. Please help if you can!

Afternoon,

I was thinking it was the HDD spinning but we can rule that out but not yet!

Could you take the side cover off of the size of the case and then do the same thing again, open the program and then you will be able to pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from. It could be the PSU yet, but I need some elaboration first.

Clicked it several times it still makes the 4 clicking sounds but it sounds like it's coming from the rear of the tower while the hdd is in the front of the tower... its strange it only does it with this program

Could you take the side of the case off and look inside?

OK, so the case side is off now. So you should be able to pinpoint EXACTLY where the noise is coming from, put your ear next to the different components in the PC (but not too close, we don't want anyone dead today).

Many thanks,

Ok so I snoops around a bit it's coming from the left side of my tower...I think I may have pinpointed the issue... I think it's the sound card it would make sense since it's a recording program and only does it with that program... I have no speakers or mics installed into that program due to a usb headset.. maybe? What do you think it's either that or the psu but the psu is buried under a fancy ibuypower light up cover
