Forgot to include GPU clips/caps in Newegg RMA

so I was building a new PC when I found out that the MOBO I ordered was defective.I RMA it with Newegg, but when I was re-packing it to send it back I forgot those to put back in those little plastic GPU clips when I removed my GPU.

Newegg denied my RMA because of the missing clips and I got pissed at first and contacted Google Protection to complain to them to somehow get my MOBO replaced.Told them that it was unfair that they denied me a replacement for a MOBO that came in defective just because I forgot the tiny clips.

Did I do the right thing persisting with this?Should I keep persisting or say my problem was solved send my MOBO over to Asrock to get it fixed/replaced by them?

If I should persist with them what should I bring up and say to somehow persuade Newegg to give me my replacement.

First PC build and I am hotheaded as hell since I was ready for some Wildstar (current pc can't run it).

Tried that already. To sum up their reply they just said "Nope" and offered me $25 in credit for the shipping costs to send the MOBO to the manufacturer. Also they didn't offer me this when I sent the first message. In the first reply they just told me to buzz off pretty much.I replied to that email in a hotheaded manner and then they offered me the shipping credit.

Because of that weird change with them I thought I could maybe get something done by contacting the Google Protection Services.I'm not sure if I should keep it going or just call everything off on Google's side and just get my MOBO sent back to me so I can send it over to Asrock for an RMA there.

I know this already, just didn't think I would screw up my build and delay it for probably another month.Been ten days since I ordered this and I'm not sure if I should persist in my request for a replacement or just send this thing to Asrock and be at their mercy on it.On a very tight budget and this thing cost me $80.

I'm only 15 and my parents would probably kill me if I didn't get anything back out of this as they paid for my build as a celebration for getting straight A's on my freshman year of highschool. What a buzzkill...

The ironic part is that I read all the RMA nightmare stuff about Newegg but still decided to get the Asrock mobo on Newegg instead of Amazon because it was $20 cheaper on there.I wouldn't be in this situation if I just ponied up the extra $20...

You have absolutely no case at all. The terms are that you return all parts and packaging. You didn't and then you had an attitude with them.

Those clips should not be taken off. As far as they are concerned you broke it then tried to return it. Be glad they are willing to give you a credit

First, congratulations on the straight A's!!

Second, that is pretty crummy to not RMA something for forgotten items, even if you offer to send them in to complete the package.

If it is truly defective though, you may just need to send it in to Asrock. Google protection services probably isn't going to be much of a help (it isn't really intended for this kind of issue), and may even delay the whole thing further. NewEgg is likely to dispute it, and that will take time to resolve....even more time than just getting Asrock process started. Truly sorry....I'm sure the delay is excruciating.

Well I would thank you for confirming my screwedness, but I need to set something straight with you atleast.I could not install my GPU without removing those clips.I needed to take the clip off, set in my GPU, and then put the clip back on.After I found out my board was defective I removed the clip, took out my GPU, but forgot to put that one little clip back in and sent back my MOBO.

I know it was a mistake of me to forget that little piece of plastic, but when they denied my RMA they labeled the MOBO as damaged by me and the notes also said that BOTH clips were missing from the MOBO and that I also sent in an extra back of HDD racks for a computer case. Now if my memory serves right I did not send in any extra bag of HDD racks and the computer case I bought didn't even come with any extra HDD racks, just the one pre-installed into it.

Everything they told me just made me suspicious as hell about the whole thing on top of getting my RMA denied over a missing piece of plastic that I can prob make with my stove fire for less than ten cents.

The problem I have right now how the hell can I persuade them to send me a replacement since I have seen many posts before about how people get Newegg to replace their MOBOs even when they are labeled as damaged by the customer. They never say how they do it though, they just say that they stand their ground.I'm not very good at that.

Oh sorry, new to tom's hardware and accidentally selected as best answer.

It won't turn on.All PSU plugins in and everything set, but the nothing budged.I already tested my PSU on a friend's comp beforehand, so it wasn't that. It's not like they were going to resell the motherboard since it was completely broken, so why the hell are the GPU clips even needed? They will just find an excuse for anything so that they won't lose any money nowadays.

I actually used that post as a guide to check myself after my comp didn't turn on so...

But do you think I could possibly beg them to accept my RMA if I could send in some of those clips maybe?Just maybe?Or after they send the board back and I put the clips back on and resend the board possibly.

EDIT:
Actually, forget that. Now way Newegg would agree to it.I'll just deal with Asrock's RMA service since it's my only option at this point. Thanks for supporting me in the grief of my first and failed build.
EDIT #2:
Oh you mentioned this solution already. That flew over my head in my flurry of emails I got from other answers, my bad.
