A lot of svchost.exe running?

So, I noticed that almost all of my 8 gigs of ram were being used and my cpu fan was going crazy, I check the processes tab to see whats up and I find a bunch of svchost.exe running, the top one was at 900,000k a bit before I took this screenshot http://imgur.com/pBXnvZ7 but then it randomly dropped to 200,000k? I'm a bit confused by it.

Most probably the Windows update is downloading, so that's why you have so much k for your svchost.exe. Download handy utility called Process Explorer and chech what service is loading inside svchost.exe. Also have a look at the this article and comments http://www.file.net/process/svchost.exe.html
