I'm looking to upgrade my Processor on my HP but I don't know which processor to pick because i don't want to buy one and next thing you know it's not working! :(

I have a HP Pavilion p6300uk It has M2N68-LA (Narra6) motherboard (More info http://goo.gl/6f66bv)
which can support the following processor upgrades...

Socket type: AM3
TDP: 95 watt
AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)
AMD Phenom II X3 7xx/7xxe Triple-Core (Heka)
AMD Phenom II X2 5xx (Callisto)
AMD II Athlon X4 6xx/6xxe (Propus)
AMD II Athlon X3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)
AMD II Athlon X2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)
AMD Sempron 1xx (Sargas)
(More info here http://goo.gl/lgYvWq)

Some say HP have shit shitty documentation on their PC upgrades so i cannot believe their upgrade processors information? Can someone please help me which highest and fastest processor will go this HP PC please?

EDIT** So my main question is would these processors work for my PC or not? Has anyone got P6300uk and tried any of these processor as an upgrade?

I am sure it would work but to be honest I would not be surprised if you got the 965 that the 4000MHz would also downclock to 2000MHz like your current cpu because of your motherboard. I would just upgrade the whole pc unless you just use it for simple non high end gaming related things. But if you do go with this 965 get a heatsink for sure.

This, trying to upgrade an HP is just asking for trouble. They often lock out hardware changes from the BIOS. I killed an HP upgrading the chip to a 965 BE and ended up just buying a decent ASUS board for $80.

@Sleetz

Phenom II X4 965 BE It's at 125W, I don't think that would run on my PC. My guess is anything below 95w or 65w would work?
btw not really in to heavy gaming, Just a minor multi tasking and low end games really.

So what processor would work?

Unknown, everything is a risk if it's not what came with it.

I know right, that's why i hate HP. There has to be a risk when it comes to upgrading on manufactured computers like dell and HP. I just need the right processor upgrade... still looking for any solutions?
I have the HP for work, that's why i'm still using it otherwise if i needed it for heavy gaming or multi tasking then i would of bought a own made computer.

You just have to take a risk. The motherboard from the HP site shows it supports that chip, but you may want to run a BIOS update if there is one available.
It should work, but don't expect any help from HP if it doesn't.
Worst case scenario, it won't boot and you can put the old one back.

That's why I don't recommend branded systems for gaming, or anything short of office work.

TBH, you can probably buy a complete 965 BE system for cheap these days.

Yeah there are alot of cheap PCs these days, for now I'm just looking for an upgrade so i run this PC till end of this year. Right now my HP is sitting here burning off, It's so slow and CPU fan makes alot of noise. You really think HP have bio updates? I never had a single update on the bio ever since i bought this PC in 2010 lol
Phenom II X4 810 95W would this work? (Heatsink is included) Going above this is like saying buy a new PC lol.

Absolutely they'll have BIOS updates.

And yah.. but a new PC and don't spend a penny on this one, is the best advice. Once you get a full ATX tower and build it yourself, the tower will last forever, PSU's last a good 8 - 10 years if you're lucky. You won't need to dump the whole system everytime you upgrade.

lmao the updates are so old. You see how HP treat their desktops. It's complete bull****. I guess upgrading this is full useless. I've gotta buy a new PC this time built by my self not branded lol. I only use my current PC for office work and little gaming when bored.
