Hello there,

I just bought some new components to upgrade my PC, but since i installed the new parts, i'm having trouble running Windows 8.1or above on it.

My rig:
Intel i5-6600k
MSI Krait Gaming z170A
G.Skill Ripjaws 4 16Gb (8x2) 3000Mhz
Gigabyte 970GTX G1 Gaming
Corsair Force 3 120Gb SSD
WD 320Gb Hard Drive
Seagate 1Tb Hard Drive
Corsair Hydro Series H100i
Corsair CS650M 80 Plus Gold

First, i tried to install Windows 8.1 on my PC through a USB Pen Drive and after installing it, the windows gets stuck on the logo loading screen (the wheel keeps spinning forever), upon the first restart after windows copied and installed all the files. After this, i decided to install Windows 8, cause i thought it was an issue with the Pen Drive and everything went fine. Then, after installing some windows updates (i didn't upgrade to windows 8.1, but maybe this updates are related to it), i run into the same issue i had before when i tried to install Windows 8.1 (Stuck on loading screen forever). Also, i tried to upgrade to Windows 10 and it fails everytime after the first restart to start installing Windows 10. The windows fails to boot, i get BSOD error calling a MEMORY_MANAGMENT. After PC restarts i get an error telling me that the Windows 10 failed to install, and get an error. I did a memory test and it didn't find any errors.

Also, when i try to update windows and get stuck on loading screen, the only way to get it to work again is by pressing F8 on start up and restore Windows. (It restores windows to a previous version, when everything was working).

Need help please... Thank you and sorry for the long post.

Solution
It probably was the bios.I didn't check for a newer one with a motherboard so new. Keeping XMP enabled is a good thing,it makes that the ram works at rated speeds, voltage and timings.

You're welcome.:)

XMp is not enabled in the BIOS. Should i enable it?
I said windows 8.1 and above, because it seems to be connected to updates that relate to windows 8.1 and above.

I would enable XMP to make the ram work at rated speeds.Might not be able to run 3000mhz without an overclock, but just try.

Tried the 320gb hdd to see if windows will install there? Maybe do so as well.If there's no valuable data on there that is,otherwise make a back up.

Ok, everything worked.
Looks like it was some problem with the BIOS and when i updated it to the latest version, it started working properly.
I don't know if turning on XMP helped, but i will keep it enabled just in case :)

Thank you!
