Ideally they should not be. Certain internal components do better when not exposed to magnetization.
The strength of most magnetized tools often isn't enough to seriously damage the components, but if you can avoid it you should.

That would work, though as I mentioned it would be better to avoid magnetic components if you can. Here is an example of a non-magnetized screwdirver set for PC repair that would serve you well:
