Dead Lenovo y510p, getting new Alpha, Can I save anything besides the RAM?

Hey guys, I am currently waiting on the base line model of the Alienware Alpha to replace my dead Lenovo y510p. I have a couple question regarding transferable parts, and upgrades in general.

1. I have already salvaged the memory from the laptop, and i believe I can slot one of the 4gb cards into the Alpha effortlessly. It is 3DDRL, 1600 mghz but a confirmation would make me feel better.

2. There's a chance the processor is in good shape, but looking at the baseline outputs, I don't know much of an improvement it would be. Its a 4th gen intel i7 -- notably better than the new i3 the alpha comes with? and easily to install if so?

3. I will probably have to wait a bit, but I do also understand adding the SSD is the other highly recommended upgrade. Would love some advice on the best part.

I'm a noob, and have no people to talk to about this stuff in person, so help is much appreciated.

Solution
Ok..... lets get this slowly checked:
1st Ram might work, but the CPU, bios, motherboard have to support it. If thats the case, it will work, but might have some problems if: both DDR3 sticks re not the same speed (1600MHZ), and if they are a different model (less likely but can happen). For that you need to check the alienware laptop and confirm what i can accept.
Each laptop has a certain motherboard, and bios, but since there is too many of them, most laptop manufacturers jsut list the things that are compatible with them.

2nd the CPU needs:
-To have the same socket (find the exact name of the Intel, I7 or I3 is the lead, there is a number after that).
-The laptop needs to have enough cooling for the new CPU, the heatsink has to...

-The laptop needs to have enough cooling for the new CPU, the heatsink has to fit, the bios needs to accept it and finally your OS needs to recognize the CPU.

3rd SSD is the easiest part, I suggest Samsung since they dont seem to have problems with Firmware as other brands sometimes have.

Solution
1. You should be able to reuse your RAM. There could be compatibility issues, but that is generally pretty rare.

2. The quad core i7-4700mq mobile CPU in your laptop will be more powerful than the dual core i3-4170T desktop CPU used in the Alpha. They use different sockets so you cannot reuse the i7 CPU. Both have hyper threading.

3. Samsung EVO 850 series are generally considered the best SSDs.
