I have a green Alienware Area 51 7500 case, and I want to keep it. Here are my specs:

Motherboard: ASUS P5ND
Processor: Intel Core Duo E8400
RAM: DDR2 8GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Basically, I want to upgrade my mobo, processor, and RAM. I would like to know what I can fit inside my case.
My goal is getting an i7 in there, and keeping my graphics card in there for now. What are the best things I can put in there?

An i7 won't give you any extra performance in games. Stick with an i5 4690K and upgrade the GPU, you'll see a greater difference in performance. You can fit any ATX, mATX or ITX motherboard in your case, so basically any motherboard will work fine :). Since...

Since that PC is quite old, you may also want to replace the PSU if you haven't so far, as it is getting a bit old and it would be tragic for all your new components to be fried if the current one decides to malfunction.

What is your overall budget for the upgrades? Keep in mind that you will have to re-install windows and purchase a new licence if you have an OEM version when replacing the motherboard with a different model.
