I am aware that an OS can cost a lot, but £70+ is a bit extreme. My friend says he bought a key from reddit for about $20 (about £12-13) and his works prefectly. All I want to know is if "Verified Sellers" are actually legit on Reddit. Also, he said that you need to do all this fuss with Windows Media Installer or something, could someone please explain this process of getting an ISO (or whatever its called). If you can't explain the second part of the question, just answer the first. Any response is appreciated.

The key from reddit is a legitimate key but it is illegally sold. They are MDSN keys which can expire after a few years or blacklisted later on from Microsoft.
£70-80 is the standard price for a window OS.
You should buy from a legitimate authorised reseller or directly from Microsoft.

ANY deeply discounted license has to be considered "too good to be true" IMO. There are some threads on here about licenses that MS has revoked and the buyer has no recourse but to buy another one. Do like everyone else has, and purchase a legitimate license from a reputable reseller like newegg etc.

You use ISO's "mounted" on flshdrives so you can do new installs for new hardrives or to fix corrupted hard drives or to upgrade to a new OS.

many have success with those cheap license deals.....have no clue on fraud or how they get them so cheap and make money.
