Hello,

So I have a BenQ XL2411 (144hz,1080p monitor). Recently I decided to upgrade my hdmi cords to HDMI 1.4 to support (120hz) for my monitor. But sadly when I placed inserted the new hdmi, It gave me no option to go to 120hz in the windows display or even nvidia's control panel. When I wanted to go to 120hz, it was only at 720p and was blurred. So I was wondering does anyone know whats going on here?

Thanks

no hdmi 1.x in which all 1080p and below monitors are only equipped with that version of hdmi can actually display true 120hz. 60hz is the actual highest refresh rate you can get on hdmi 1.x. reason being is hdmi 1.x doesn't have enough bandwidth to support that high of refresh rate. the only way you will get true 120hz is if you have a HD monitor that supports dual link dvi port, a display port or a 4k monitor that supports either hdmi 2.0, a display port or a dual link dvi port.

Sorry, But HDMI 1.4 Does support true 120hz. If you go do some research before hand you can see this.
