FX-6300 vs FX-8350

Solution
following you round mate

to me the answer is an easy no.
the question should be 6300 vs 8320 anyway (8320 is once again a downclocked 8350 - exactly the same chip & easily overclocked)

as rababnoor says, better motherboard+better cooler needed for an 8 core

I have both a 6300 & a 8320 rig ( in my sig)
both clocked at 4.3ghz - for gaming they perform virtually the same.

If youre going to run heavily thread rendering apps & video transcodes then just maybe the outlay is worth it for an 8 core - if its for general use & gaming then definitely not.

the 6300 with a decent motherboard & cooler & spend the money saved on a better gpu would be my choice.

Although youve never actually stated your uses for your build ??

When it comes to amd fx chips though the 6300 & the 8320 should really be your only 2 choices - nothing else offers the same performance to price ratio.
