Hi guys,

I've recently got into the pc gaming scene and wanted to upgrade some parts on my current desktop. With my current desktop I am unable to run the games i want to play with a steady fps rate. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to pc build so I would like some help. I want to upgrade my current graphics card but dont know hich are compatible with my current processor and power supply.

My PC Specs: (note didn't build this pc myself)

Operating system: Windows 10
Processor: AMD A8-5500 APU (3.2 GHz, 4 MB cache)
Storage: 1 TB HDD, 7200 rpm
RAM: 6 GB DDR3
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7560D + R5 235 dual graphics
Graphics card memory: 6 GB DDR3
Power supply: Total wattage: 300W

My budget is around the $200 mark however if there are any slightly higher but with better performance to price value I would also be interested.

Thanks in advance.

It's a bit useless to go much over the 260X since your CPU will be the weak point then. If you want to get a faster card than the 260X you may as well forget the 6670, that is only if you want to use "dual graphics" like you said in the post, but for your budget it's a waste to limit yourself to that. Not sure where you see bad reviews of the 260X, it's not the...

Would the hd6670 be an upgrade on my current graphics card and also is it (hd6670) the best graphics card for my current processor and PSU or is there something better (i dont mind how much it costs)?
And @hang-the-9, is there a better graphics card than the one you recommended as the reviews on it are not so great (like i said i dont mind how much it costs)

Thanks

Not sure where you see bad reviews of the 260X, it's not the fastest card, but it's the top card in it's price range (new prices of-course). You can get a R7 370 if you want a faster video card, and it may still be OK to use with the A8 CPU, but anything higher you would want a faster CPU for a balanced system. The 370 will run on the same EVGA power supply I linked already.

the hd6670+8560d is about the same as a radeon hd 7700 very decent for the price plays skyrim on ultra

Might as well forget 260x because it isn't really and better than the dual graphics setup I was running a8 5500 with 7560d+6670 dual graphics benchmarked right there with a hd7700 which when rebadged is a r7 260x or less

and for now disable r5 ur apu is faster as long as u have 1600 MHz ram set allocated memory to 2 gig I had that setup upgraded to 6670 then bought a 7850K and a r9 270x Trust me 7560d+6670 is pretty much the same as an r7 260

isn't a r7 260 a 7700 rebadge ? the 6670+7560d benchmarks right there with a 7700 and with mantle improvements I'm not so sure how bad the bottleneck on say a r9 270 would be if any

The dual graphics 6670 with an A8 or even an A10 CPU vs a 260X are not the same at all.
There is a pretty big difference in PassMark scores for a 6670 dual graphics and a 260X

Radeon HD 7560D + 6670 Dual 1130

Radeon R7 260X 3033

Here is a 3DMark with a lower end Pentium and a 260 X vs a much faster i7 and a 6670.

3805 in Fire Strike
Intel Pentium G3258 3,200 MHz
AMD Radeon R7 260X (1x Off) 1,175 MHz

2320 in Fire Strike
Intel Core i7-960 Processor 3,204 MHz
AMD Radeon HD 6670 (1x Off) 800 MHz

And here is a dual graphics setup with an A10 and 6670, even slower than an i7 with the 6670.

1946 in Fire Strike

AMD A10-5800K 3,600 MHz
AMD Radeon HD 6670 (2x Crossfire) 810 MHz

As you can see, pretty big difference (over 30% to almost double) in speeds. 3805 vs 1946.

are u using ddr3 or ddr5 6670 card cause the gddr5 is a totally different card as far as performance I'm basing my answer off my last setup A8 5500 with hd 6670 in dual (gddr5)

Those scores look to be for the GDDR5 version, found this test with a Core i5 for the same FireStrike test for a 7750 which should be faster than the 6670.

AMD HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 1984
AMD HD 7750 2GB GDDR3 1435

The 7750 GDDR5 score of 1984 with the i5 is about the same as the 1946 score with the A10 and the 6670, which leads me to think that the 6670 in the test was a GDDR5 also. From a few sources the difference in DDR3 and GDDR5 is 10-20%, but that would depend on the exact card and game/test.
