hi everyone
am new here , i have a small idea about memory but i found myself confused about a situation i faced , so i hope that someone will help me and explain his help for me and thanks :)

i have two memory
1- 8Gb 1600
2- 4Gb 1333

i want to install them on my motherboard Asrock H61M-VG3
i installed them both , and entered the bios , but the BIOS detected them both as 1333
PS : my CPU is Core i5 2320 3GHz

my Question are :
1- is there any bad effect or any effect while using two memory with different frequency ?
2- is there a way to make my motherboard detect one 1600 and the other 1333 knowing that the 1600 is faster ?
3- in my motherboard manual i read something about Sandy and Ivy Bridge when it comes to Memory Frequency but i dont know what they mean with it
4- if my motherboard and CPU support Ivy Bridge how can i set it on

thanks all for reading and i apreciate any help ^^

Your best bet would be to just buy another stick of 8GB 1600, although it will be hard to find one stick so you'll need to buy a pair.

thanks , i understand this , but iam still confused is the 8 GB 1600 will be faster than the 12 GB 1333 ??
and when i will buy another one it has to be 8 too ? i cant buy a 4 with the same frequency ? (1600)

Most likely running both would be better. You probably have use of dual channel which doubles the amount of communication that can happen. It's like you own a business and have 2 employees, one is better than the other, but having 2 (in most cases) can get more done.

my use of my compute is like that
65% Gaming
25% 3D Rendering
10% Video Encoding

this is my details from CPU-Z

so if i understand you right you meant that if the dual channel is active then even if they dont match in frequency still better than only 8GB 1600 ???

Yes, with two sticks you are doubling the amount of data that can be stored and retrieved at one time by the CPU. So essentially you're running at 1333x2. With one stick it'll be at 1600x1. Unless you had a stick running faster than 2666, the 2 sticks running 1333 will be better.
