Hello Community,
I'm thinking about buying a suitable sized SSD as a secondary drive to my computer. The drive will be purely used to install a few games and play them off this drive. However in a few years down the line if I was to get a completely new PC, could I simply take the SSD and pop it into the new PC (Still as a secondary drive) or in order move the SSD to the new PC would I need to wipe it clean? You could say, I'm sort of making a dedicated "game storage" SSD?

When it comes to PC Knowledge I'm rusty when it comes to storage hardware.

Thank you for any help!

Drives without an OS on them can safely be moved from any PC to any other PC, provided it's formatted in a way that both understand, which for Windows to Windows would be NTFS.

These drives function basically like external drives, except that they're mounted internally. They get treated the same since both are non-OS drives. Since we can move external drives around, we can also move these drives around it's just physically difficult.
