Is a 500w psu enough for an r9 390

Upgrading my gaming rig soon from a 270x to a 390. However, I already have an evga 500w 80+ bronze psu.

System Specs:
Soon to be upgraded to msi z97s sli krait edition mobo
soon to upgraded to i5 4690k
2x4gb ram
1tb hdd

Do I need to get a new psu is 500w enough? Also gaming on it so I will probably be pushing the cpu and gpu to the limits at some points

No it's not enough.

And that EVGA is a poor PSU.

I would recommend a good reliable 650w.

The 390 is shown to draw in over 300W under stress test. So no, do not do that. As Blackbird says, higher is requiured. I would go 600 minimum, but would rather go into higher, efficient safe territory of 750W with the great deal shown above.

I think I am actually gonna get a corsair rm750. It is more expensive, but I never liked the way the cables were colored at the ends of the evga and the colors clashed with my system colors. These cables are all black and its modular too, which is a plus. Anyways thanks for the help!

You'll probably waste your money, Corsair RMs are overpriced. Another $50 is probably not worth it for color in my opinion, but your call.
