Im building a pc and im getting a 1tb hard drive and i found out about ssd as boot/os drive. i have picked out a 60gb model which im told is enough but id rather put the money toward a better CPU even though it is decent and will play anything for awhile but im not sure

Yes, SSD will definitely help in load times, everything from boot, to photos, to game maps.
No, 60GB is a tease. The OS will barely fit on 60GB, and that's not including all the upgrades, fixes, security stuff, adobe reader, flashplayer, etc etc etc that benefits from SSD speeds. Minimum recommended size is at least a 120/128Gb. The only real use a 60Gb or lower SSD has is in Intel's software that uses the SSD in tandem with the hdd as C: drive, as a cache memory. Everything is stored on the hdd, but stuff you are working on now is loaded to the ssd and used there. Commonly acts exactly like a hybrid SSHD drive (which only uses a 8Gb SSD) , so a 60Gb is pretty much a waste of money.

With SSD's, go big, or get a hybrid.
