Hi, i want to install new RAM in my laptop which has "ivy bridge" chipset with core i3 3120M processor. The machine can support up to 16GB RAM DDR3 at 1600MHz.

I have two options as the price difference is actually very low:
1. Kingston Hyper X impact 2x4GB, 1600MHz, DDR3l, SODIMM
2. Kingston Hyper X PnP 2x4GB, 1600MHz, DDR3l, SODIMM

Kindly advise me on what should be more suitable. Moreover can a DDR3l type RAM be added to a board which supports DDR3? I personally see no difference except the voltage rating........ Thank u in advance

Solution
Both are CL9, however the Impact runs 1.35v which will be better than the Plug-N-Play's 1.5v for laptop usage. Also, the Impact is the newer model

I don't know any thing more about the product? are you asking for latency?

Yes, usually listed as 'CL' or a series of numbers like 9-9-9-24. with ram of similar clock speed like 1600, the set with the lower CL or latency will be the slightly better performer. With prices somewhat equivalent, clocks similar, latency same, it'll be just a matter of what you think looks better.
